Approximately 4,000 Palestinians took part in clashes with Israeli security forces in the West Bank and along the Gaza border on Friday. According to Palestinian reports, five protesters were seriously hurt.
It is the fourth consecutive week of clashes following U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city.
Some 2,000 protestors engaged Israeli soldiers at 20 locations throughout the West Bank, including Ramallah, Hebron, Nablus and Bethlehem. Protestors threw rocks and fire bombs while security forces responded by means of riot dispersal. One Palestinian was reported to be in critical condition after being wounded by live gunfire.
Approximately 2,000 Palestinians took part in protests along the Gaza border. Dozens of Palestinian were wounded in clashes at nine points along the border fence, with four reported to be in critical condition. The Israel Defense Forces said that it had fired toward four Palestinians who tried to cross the border into Israel.
Earlier on Friday three rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward southern Israel on Friday. Israel’s Iron dome missile defense system intercepted two of the rockets, while the third hit a building in the regional council of Shaar Hanegev. No casualties were reported.

In response, the Israeli army struck two Hamas positions in the northern Gaza Strip by tank and aircraft.
