Scarlett Johansson to play German mother who hides Jewish girl in WWII drama

American actress Scarlett Johansson is set to star in Taika Waititi’s World War II drama “Jojo Rabbit,” reported Variety magazine Thursday. In the movie, a young German boy in Hitler’s youth army discovers that his mother, played by Johansson, is hiding a Jewish girl in their home.

The film director from New Zealand is now looking to cast a young actor to play the role of the German boy.

In April, Johansson will reprise her role as the Black Widow in the Marvel Comics feature film “Avengers: Infinity War,” a sequel to the 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evans.
