Israeli soldiers on Tuesday shot and wounded a two Palestinians who attempted to run over them near a West Bank settlement, the military said.
One of the Palestinians, a man in his 30s, was seriously wounded and taken to the Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva after receiving initial medical treatment on the scene. The other Palestinian, a woman, was also wounded and evacuated by Palestinian emergency services, Israeli medical sources said. He medical state was not immediately clear.
No soldiers were hurt in the incident.
The military said that the vehicle raised the suspicion of the soldiers after it approached them, adding that the incident is being investigated.
The incident took place near the settlement of Halamish, in the center of the West Bank, where three members of an Israeli family were killed during a Shabbat meal. Omar al-Abed, the Palestinian terrorist who committed the attack, infiltrate the settlement and stabbed members of the Solomon family.
