Paramedics from Magen David Adom treated 1,659 people, responding to 2,229 incidents over the 25 hours of the Yom Kippur, the high holy day of atonement, the group said Saturday evening.
21 people required life-saving resuscitation.More than 260 children and adults required first aid due to injuries caused by recreational biking, skateboarding and in-line skating. 28 people were hurt in traffic accidents, two of them moderately. 24 people were injured in acts of violence.
MADA ambulances also rushed 164 women to give birth at hospitals across the country.
The group said their vehicles were pelted with rocks on two incidents.
