President Trump has affianced $1 million of his personal income to assist victims of Hurricane Harvey in both Texas and Louisiana, a White House pronounced Thursday.
“The boss is pledging a million dollars of personal income to help,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters in a press lecture Thursday.
Sanders pronounced that a boss asked that she “check with” reporters for “suggestions” on groups and organizations that would be “best and many effective in providing aid.”
Sanders was asked either Trump would compensate a $1 million from his personal funds, or from a Trump Organization.
“I know a boss pronounced he was going to give—I don’t know a authorised partial of accurately that, though he pronounced his personal money,” Sanders answered. “So we assume that comes directly from him.”
The boss and First Lady Melania Trump trafficked to Texas on Tuesday to revisit with initial responders and officials, and will transport again to Texas and also to Louisiana on Saturday. Sanders told reporters that a “specific cities” they will revisit are being finalized.
“As of right now, there are indeterminate skeleton to be in a Houston area and presumably Lake Charles,” Sanders said, observant that could change due to “varying conditions.”
The lecture began with remarks from White House Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert, who pronounced that an estimated 100,000 homes have been affected.
“The boss and a group here has been operative around a time to support recovery,” Bossert said. “We’re saying deployed resources from a lot of states—28 hunt and rescue teams, and charge army from 16 states promulgation support to Texas.”
Moments after a lecture finished, Trump tweeted, thanking “heroes” in Texas.
