Nintendo teased this game once before a long time ago, but at the end of its Nindies Summer Showcase 2017 presentation, the company finally confirmed that it will be getting the next game in the No More Heroes franchise. No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2018, and it will be exclusive to the portable console.
Grasshopper Manufacture and its director Goichi “Suda51” Suda are both returning to the series, meaning none of the charm that made the series a cult-hit will be lost in the generation transition. The game stars Travis seven years removed from his action adventure hit.
In this reveal trailer, the father of a previous target named Bad Girl comes back seeking revenge for his daughter’s murder. As usual, Travis drops a lot of video game references while fighting.
Glad to see that the series is as unapologetic as ever.
No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again is the third game in the No More Heroes franchise. The first game launched for the Nintendo Wii in 2008 where it enjoyed a rabid cult following before being ported to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Its sequel, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, followed in 2010 also on the Wii, but it did not venture beyond Nintendo’s grasp. Here, in 2017, Travis still belongs to the Big N.
No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again will be released for the Nintendo Switch in 2018.
