Drunken law tutor kicked off British Airways plane told to pay £4,500

Meghna Kumar, 30, had been drinking vodka in an airport bar before she swore at flight staff who asked her to fasten her seatbelt before take-off on the flight from London Heathrow to Montreal.

Her behaviour was so worrying the pilot was forced to taxi back to the departure gate so Kumar could be removed, causing a two-hour delay.

The academic, who used to teach university students in Canada, has now been banned from flying British Airways for two years.
