Sooner or later it comes down to the Jews – and this time what did we do so terribly wrong?
If you ask Michael Chabon, he’ll tell you, as regards Charlottesville, that if you don’t hate President Trump as much as he does, you are not a good Jew, certainly not as good as he is. Chabon is an award-winning writer who also wins friends and influences people through his constant (and truly ugly) rants against Israel – and now Trump. Amazing how, lately, the two go together.
So bottom line – hating Trump is required but there is more to it than that. Do you hate Trump ENOUGH? That is the question.
If you do not hate him enough, you fail, you lose, you flunk. They won’t have you in their Progressice/Leftist /Liberal/Antifa circles, which somehow claim the moral high ground with friends like Soros, Hamas, Hezbollah and by far the most active anti-Semitic organization on the face of the earth – BDS.
They’re okay for the Left. Trump is not okay… because he dared to call out their darlings who arrive on the scene swinging axes and baseball bats.
To the Left there are two kinds of anti-Semites.
White Extremists are bad anti-Semites. Leftist anti-Semites, Roger Waters and Linda Sarsour for some reason come to mind, are good anti-Semites.
For your failure to hate Trump ENOUGH, they will denounce you and call you names.
To speak out against them, as does Trump, is simply not fair. They are a protected species.
So for your failure to hate Trump ENOUGH, they will denounce you and call you names.
As Dana Milbank just did. Milbank writes for The Washington Post and writes that three Jewish members of Trump’s administration, Gary Cohn, Steven Mnuchin and Jared Kushner are guilty of being “Court Jews” because…well he says they ought to be ashamed for not speaking up against Trump, which, in my book, still means they failed the test.
They do not hate Trump ENOUGH…and in my book (“The Bathsheba Deadline”), I write that “bashing Israel is often a competitive sport among the Liberal elites.”
Ditto Trump.
So forget having me at the next dance anywhere along the Upper East Side. Not a chance that I’ll be invited to the wine-tasting soiree at Park Slope.
I am Jewish, but the wrong kind, obviously.
But let me tell you what I find disgusting…and I mean truly obnoxious.
Those are people who would never use the Torah to support Israel, but find it useful to defame Jewish supporters of Israel…and Trump.
Milbank, no rabbi so far as I know, suddenly finds the Good Book, and suddenly gets Religion.
From Hebrew Scriptures he finds a dozen texts to rebuke his three “court Jews.”
Has Milbank and the rest of the news media EVER used Biblical references to prove Jewish G-d-given rights to the Land of Israel? For that, never. Yet it’s all over the place. Just turn from one page to the next. In this week’s portion alone I can cite you line after line that run like the following —
“You shall cross the Jordan and you shall settle in the Land that your G-d causes you to inherit.”
But why only that when I can give you a thousand more such references from throughout the Five Books of Moses?
Yet this is what happens when the right Book falls into the wrong hands…ignoramuses like this Milbank.
Go, knock yourself out on blaming Trump for everything under the sun.
But to use the Hebrew Bible against the Jews for cheap political expedience, this is too terrible.
This I forbid.
