The boy was given first aid by shocked passers-by before he was rushed by ambulance to the Capital’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children.
Medics told his family he suffered two broken collar bones, a smashed elbow and wrist, fractured femur and bruising to a number of vital organs.
Describing his condition as “critical but stable” ahead of surgery yesterday, the youngster’s mother – who has asked not to be identified – posted online: “He has been so brave, braver than I could ever be. I’m so proud of him, he’s ma wee trooper. He has two broken collar bones, broken elbow and wrist. His femur is broken, he has bruising on his lungs liver and kidney, a small tear in his kidney, cuts and bruises.”
